Artzmania is an independent venture showcasing outstanding international creativity and culture. With blazing passion for design, it is the latest platform for Designer’s Territory to inspire, express and share with fellow art enthusiast profiling diversified design. It was founded in January 2007 by a team of arts and graphic enthusiasts in Malaysia. Thank you guys for answering our questions.
Q. Hi there. Can you guys introduce yourselves and tell us who are actually behind ArtzMania?
A. Hi Sireh Dan Cengkeh team, thanks for this interview opportunity, we really happy with it.
Hello all Sireh Dan Cengkeh readers, Artzmania is from Malaysia, and we are an independent venture showcasing outstanding international creativity and culture, with blazing passion for design.
Q. Who are actually behind of Artzmania?
A. Well, we can’t say the name, but we can tell you that Artzmania team make up from programmers and graphic designers supported by Spotbit.com
Q. How did this website first got started?
A. The website got started with a few get together team member who wanted to open an avenue for arts lover to share their wonderful masterpiece with others of the same passion and for other industries who interest with it.
Q. What is your initial plan when you first started ArtzMania?
A. We are enthusiastic about establishing a global platform for arts lovers for to share their passion and that still remain our focal point today
Q. What kind of art do you actually feature in ArtzMania?
A. ArtzMania usually revolve around the digital art scene, developing the classic arts into contemporary masterpiece, showcasing some cool creative arts techniques that evolve for the past few years. What we can say is that, a picture depicts a thousand meanings.
Q. What do you think about the design scene in Malaysia? Do you think we have enough publications, events and websites to promote creative talents?
A. Design scene in Malaysia are still in its blooming stage, nothing extravagant but enough to create its own presence in the creative arts world. We still have rooms to make some improvement in terms of public awareness that design is just not all about drawing, but it’s a passion.
Q. Who are some of your favorite local and international designers?
A. For local designers, it will be Kuanth, Leong Wan Kok, Muid Latif (DigitalMalaya), Jay Lim, Sonny Liew, Yeoh Yi-Piao, Urban Creatures, Soh Ee Venn and the other that we can’t remember their name (sorry :) )
And about international designers we, it will be Duryagin Oleg, Feimo, Fox, Deland and Yueshuxin, June Kim, Zuzanna Krzysik, Meats Meier, Marta Dahlig, Kuang Hong, Daniel Igarza, Tatiana Arocha, Banksy, Jonathan Eve, Sarah Silver, Geoffang, Diane Arbus, Davison Carvalho, ImaginaryFS, The Skin Factory, Dylan (Amy Sol), Kazuhiko Nakamura, Cha-Cha, Tony Ariawan, The Yellow Dino and all designers that Artzmania have featured in the past issues
Q. What are your favorite local and international design websites/forums?
A. No specific. We are kind of very open group that supports anyone who has passion for arts.
Q. Have ArtzMania organize or participate in any events? If yes, can you share with us some notable and memorable moments?
A. Yes, we do make ourselves involved in events, as each one of it becomes an eye opener to us; events are usually the place where opportunity to learn, share, grow in terms of experience and knowledge.
A good time to self-promo also. It’s better than keeping ourselves in a nutshell :)
Q. Do you think our local designers are on par with other international designers out there?
A. We have to keep an open mind on this. Always show the support and have confidence in the new fresh talent as they, too, one day, could be the one, if not on par, could be surpassing the international designers. Talent and skills is something hard to measure as each individual designer have their own approach.
Q. How’s your relationship between SpotBit and so far, what is the most popular & most downloaded issue of ArtzMania?
A. 100% positive. SpotBit helped us to grow along the way, so why can’t be there any good relationship with the party that supports us side-by-side?
Q. What is ArtzMania plan for the near future?
A. Keep the fan base growing, keep the issues going, keep the talent coming, and keep the creativity burning. That will for sure to get ArtzMania in the public eye for long.
